Introduction
Ollie exists to bring clarity to the modern web by empowering anyone to curate, share, and collaborate on collections of Content — for themselves, for the benefit of their larger community, or for the world. Our Service is intended to be a tool for positive growth and welcoming to all.
The internet, however, can be a questionable place. There is some Content that we shouldn't empower people to centralize and share — so we have these Community Standards to outline what we do and do not allow on our Service. If you find Content that does not belong on Ollie, please report it to us. You can do so either through our reporting tools or by emailing us at abuse@ollie.fyi. Your reports help us inform and update these Standards.
How To Interpret This Document
These Standards have been set to make sure everyone feels safe and comfortable using Ollie, as well as to help us abide by third-party platform rules. This document exists to clarify our expectations of Content and behavior on Ollie, and outline what is and is not allowed. These Standards are non-exhaustive and may change as the world and the needs of our community change. We ask that you not only follow what's written here but also behave with the spirit of these Standards in mind.
We reserve the right to restrict or remove any Content or accounts. That being said, we are committed to only doing so with good reason — based on context and the likelihood that the Content or behavior in question will threaten the safety, privacy, well-being, or dignity of others.
All terms used in these Standards but not defined shall have the meaning given to them in the Terms and Conditions.
Throughout this document, we will refer to Content, use of Service, and behavior that is and is not allowed on our Service. "Content" refers to anything you post or create on Ollie, including boards (and your arrangement of cards and sections on them), cards and links, comments, profiles, and messages.
Detection and Enforcement
When your boards are public or shared with others, we moderate them to protect everyone from harm and abuse. When your boards are private, they are private to you, and we will only access them when we have your permission or are required to by law. When you invite others to your private boards, we rely on the respective invited users to report any objectionable Content.
It's important to note that when you create Content in a private board, but share it to a public or shared board (or convert the private board into a shared board), that Content is no longer private to you, and will be subject to higher scrutiny.
Users can report others via the reporting features on Ollie or by emailing us at abuse@ollie.fyi. We take all reports seriously and review each one. We may employ automated tools for detecting, blocking, restricting, or otherwise preventing the creation and viewing of Content in violation of the Agreements.
We may temporarily restrict access to Content during the review process and remove it if it violates these Standards. We may temporarily or permanently ban accounts if they are involved in severe or repeated on-Service violations, and may consider actions on other platforms and offline behavior in these decisions. Circumstances that involve any instance of a threat of real-world harm to human life that is specific, credible, and imminent may be reported to law enforcement authorities. We do not allow users under 13 on Ollie, verify ages upon joining, and will remove them if we suspect they are under 13. For users in Europe, we do not allow users under 16. We may restrict certain Content from being shown to minors on our Service and provide opt-in screens for graphic or otherwise offensive Content. A minor is any person under the age of 18.
We Care About You. Be Careful!
We moderate Content to protect our users, like you. However, you might find the violating Content first. This might be misinformation, harmful and misguided advice, or even links to phishing sites or malware.
Content posted to Ollie should not be interpreted as an endorsement by Ollie, nor as a sign of validity, quality, or veracity. We ask that you use your best judgment when it comes to engaging with others' Content. We are not responsible for the Content or repercussions of Content posted by others on Ollie. Please report any objectionable Content immediately either through our reporting tools or via email to abuse@ollie.fyi.
Attribution
These Standards are based on those set by other online services and communities, including Notion, Reddit, Pinterest, TikTok, and Fanhouse. Some language has been adopted from their policies, with some additions specific to Ollie.
Policies
As a tool for organizing ideas and information, we never want users to feel unsafe on our Service or for our Service to be used to coordinate harm against others. As with all social interactions, context matters, and Content may be kept or removed with the underlying context in mind. Again, these policies are non-exhaustive, and we may moderate Content if we believe it will cause harm.
Violation of the following policies can result in an immediate and permanent ban from Ollie. When applicable, we may report the behavior to the appropriate legal authorities.
Each section is split up into sub-sections:
| sub-section | |
|---|---|
| 🚫 Never Allowed | Content and behavior that we do not allow. |
| 🚧 Currently Not Allowed | Content and behavior that we currently do not allow, but might allow in the future. |
| 🟢 Allowed | Content and behavior that we wanted to specify as allowed (e.g. in a grey area with existing policies, or that is otherwise uncommon). |
Don't worry — our "🟢 Allowed" sections are for the purpose of clarification. You are able to do much more outside of these clarifications, so long as they do not violate these Standards.
Prohibited Goods and Activities
At Ollie, we do not want to enable or facilitate activities that violate laws or regulations. Ollie isn't a place for facilitating the distribution, trade, sale, or encouragement of illegal or otherwise potentially harmful goods. It is also not a place for the promotion or facilitation of certain criminal or dangerous activities.
We consider illegal substances to be those that are regulated or illegal in the jurisdiction of posting — we may be required to remove them if it does.
While engaging with any Content on our site that is not prohibited by this policy, keep in mind that we are not a marketplace and take no responsibility for transactions you might decide to undertake in spite of this.

Intellectual Property
Copyright is a legal right that protects original works of authorship (e.g., music, videos) and original expression of an idea (e.g., the specific way a video or music is expressed or created), although it does not protect underlying ideas or facts. A trademark is a word, symbol, slogan, or design that identifies and distinguishes the source of a product or service. Content that infringes on someone else's intellectual property rights is prohibited on our Service and will be removed if we become aware of it.
The use of copyrighted work under certain circumstances, such as the fair use doctrine or other applicable laws, or the use of a trademark to reference, lawfully comment, criticize, parody, make a fan page, or review a product or service, may not be considered a violation of our policies. You do not need to worry about Content generated by Ollie through a link. These are designated by the sites to be used as references and are fair use. Never claim any work you did not create as your own.
🚫 Never Allowed
You may not use our Service to engage in, encourage, promote, glorify, incite, facilitate, distribute, normalize, or instruct others to engage in:
- Infringing on anyone's copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights.
- Using Ollie's name, logo, or trademark in a way that confuses people.
- Pretending that work done by another is your own.
- Anything that violates laws or regulations.
If you are a copyright owner or authorized on behalf of one, and you believe that the copyrighted work has been copied in a way that constitutes Infringement, please follow the instructions laid out in our Digital Millenium Copyright Act (DMCA) Policy to send us a notice.
Precedence
Conflict of Agreements
In the event of a conflict within this document between restrictions in allowances, restrictions laid out on Content shall control. In the event of any inconsistency, conflict, or ambiguity as to the rights and obligations of the parties under the Agreements, the Terms of Service shall control and supersede any such inconsistency, conflict, or ambiguity.
Translation
These Standards were originally written in English (US). In the event of a conflict between a translated version of these Standards and the English version, the English version will control.
Contact Us
Thank you for your participation and commitment to making Ollie a positive, safe, and inclusive community. Again, if you encounter Content or users that you believe are violating these Standards, please let us know through our reporting features or by emailing abuse@ollie.fyi.
Feedback
Other than through your reports, we welcome direct Feedback on these Standards. While we've tried to be as thorough as possible, there is no perfect system. We will absolutely get it wrong sometimes. Sometimes, policies will unfairly affect certain groups. If there are any policies that you believe to be too lenient or too restrictive, we'll hear you out at team@ollie.fyi.
